Does Your Relationship Inspire You to be Your Best?
Having a partner to help us through good and bad can make us stronger
If you have a partner, they can be your biggest source of strength and inspiration in life. They can help you through difficult times, and be your rock when you are struggling.
Sometimes though, relationships are difficult. They can be a cause of stress when we are out of sync with our partners. At times like this, our relationship problems can consume our thoughts and our actions as we relate to others.
We may even start to complain about our partners with our friends. Do you ever find yourself doing this? Or, do you hear your friends complaining to you about their partners?
I was inspired to write about this on the blog this week.
Looking at Other People’s Relationships Helps Me Appreciate My Own
Things have been a bit difficult with us lately, since my partner started shift work. He has been working 3 different shifts: 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am. Each comes with its own unique set of challenges for us as a family.
We only have one car, so he has been trying to find rides. Or, we have to go pick him up, or I have to take the bus to take River to daycare.
Also, it means that I have been having to do River’s morning or nighttime routine by myself without his help. That has been a bit of a challenge at times too, since typically he does her nighttime routine when he is at home.
So, there are always challenges with any relationship. What matters is having good communication and working through your challenges as a team.
Talking through every situation really helps us work together, and be in sync with each other and what we are doing to take care of our home and our daughter. Good communication has really always helped us to stay close even through difficult circumstances.
Are you and your partner a team? Do you work together effectively? I hope so!
When you are working in sync, your partner can help to inspire you to be the best in yourself. My partner inspires me when it comes to my writing and is my biggest supporter in what I do. He always pushes me to do and be my best, and to follow my dreams.
Having someone supportive in your life really makes a difference, and allows you to take greater risks. You know that you have someone there who always has your back, and wants you to do your best.
I hope that this week, you can appreciate all the good things that your partner brings to your life, and that you can show them some gratitude for all that they mean to you!
Have a wonderful week!
