It’s almost the end of 2022. This is a great time to revisit the goals that you set at the beginning of the year, and see what progress you have made.
You can take an inventory of your progress towards your goals, and see how far you still have to go.
If you didn’t set goals for 2022, not to worry! You can set new goals for 2023, and right now is the perfect time to start thinking about what you want to accomplish. Over the holidays, you can be thinking about what you want your life to look like in the next year.
Think about what you want the next version of you to look like. Envision yourself with your perfect life. What does it look like? How do you feel? How do you go through the day? What kind of habits do you have?
While you are thinking about all these things, you can make a vision board with pictures of all the things you want to achieve, and all the things that inspire you. You can use a poster board and cut out pictures like I do, or you can make a Pinterest board if you like that instead.
Setting your goals
After you have decided what you want your new life to look like next year, it is time to set your goals.
A useful framework I have talked about before for setting goals is using the SMART framework. You can check out this video about smart goals to learn more!
It is important to make sure that your goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound.
One of the pitfalls that we have often with goals is that we make them too vague, so we can’t tell if we have actually met them or not. By making our goals more specific and measurable, we will know if we have met them.
For example, say you want to get more fit. You could decide that you want to do 10 sit-ups and 10 push-ups per day for 30 days. You will know exactly when you have met this goal, instead of having the vague goal of getting fit, which will be hard to determine.
If you have questions about setting goals, or want some more tips, just ask in the comments!
I hope that you have a blessed week, and that you are enjoying the holiday season so far!
All the best,
