Today is Giving Tuesday. When I used to work at the state of Colorado, they would send around a form to sign up for a monthly deduction to the Colorado Combined Campaign, which allowed you to donate to a bunch of local charities.
When we give, it helps the community, and those who are in need. If you can’t give a financial gift, you can give by volunteering, or by sharing about your favorite cause on social media to raise awareness about the work that they do. Every little bit helps, and we all have the power to make a difference in the lives of others.
For some inspiration, here is a list of some of my favorite causes:
You can do something about it now. Become a WWF supporting member! By supporting us with a WWF membership, you are helping to stop the destruction of the environment and nature. With an annual donation of just 48 euros, you are making a significant contribution to achieving our nature conservation goals.
Children on the move are children first. UNICEF works around the world to protect the rights of child migrants, child refugees and other displaced children.
United Nations World Food Programme
We bring life-saving relief in emergencies and use food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impacts of climate change.
Your gift today will ensure we can continue to fight human trafficking and relentlessly support young people facing homelessness. We’re committed to helping young people get back on their feet and onto their next chapters.
The SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.
At The Blue Bench, our mission is to eliminate sexual assault and diminish the impact it has on individuals, their loved ones and our community through comprehensive issue advocacy, prevention and care.
Whatever type of cause you want to support, they will appreciate it a great deal! You can donate to a local shelter or food bank, or any other charity that resonates with your heart. This time of year is hard for the homeless since it is so cold outside. Many shelters will have coat drives or food drives this time of year, and you can donate old coats to help those in need.
We have participated in this type of drive in the past with the Denver Rescue Mission, and there is likely somewhere in your area that is in need as well.
May our hearts always be filled with kindness for those who are suffering in our communities and in our world. Be well, my lovelies!
