As you are getting ready to prepare for the new week, be sure to take some time today for self-care! With the busy holiday season approaching, remembering self-care can be more important than ever!
The more busy you are, the more important it is to take care of yourself and your health, so that you aren’t left feeling burnt out after the holidays. It can also protect you from getting sick if you are in your best health, and making sure to take care of yourself.
This time of year, it is important to remember to take all your vitamins, and take some extra vitamin C to protect you from illnesses that are always going around, especially with the kids.
Also, make sure that you are getting enough rest. Getting proper sleep can help to ensure that you are in your best health, and protect you from the effects of stress.
Habits like Mindfulness can also help to reduce your stress level. And, you can easily practice mindfulness, meditation or yoga right from your own home without any fancy equipment.
Another good way to practice self-care is through starting a journaling practice. You can do a gratitude journal, or write morning pages. Either of these practices can help you to reduce your stress level by getting your negative thoughts out of your head and onto the page.
If you want to write morning pages, it is like doing a brain dump first thing in the morning. Just sit down with your journal first thing in the morning and write whatever comes into your head. I like to do 3 pages, but you can do whatever works for you. This allows you to get your subconscious thoughts out, because we are most connected to our subconscious first thing in the morning.
According to Forbes,
Morning pages originated in the 1990s in The Artist’s Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity (now out in a 25th anniversary edition), along with a weekly creative excursion called an artist date and a series of exercises designed to unblock creative juices.
Writing morning pages isn’t just for creatives though, it can be good for anyone looking to practice some additional self-care and get in touch with the subconscious mind.
I hope that whatever form of self-care you are practicing today, you find some peace and calm throughout the day, so that you can start the new week feeling rejuvenated!
Have a bright and blessed day today, my lovelies!
