When we are mothers, sometimes we feel more confident than others. There can be obstacles we face in parenting that we are unsure how to overcome. Coming together with other moms can help us to face these challenges head on, and to know that we have support.
It can be lonely and isolating at times to be a mom in the home with your kids all day. You don’t always get a lot of adult interaction. Making friends with other moms can be really helpful, but it is hard to reach out and make the first move in friendship. This is similar to romantic relationships, and now there are apps to make friends with other moms, like Peanut.
This week, you can read some articles that I have written about both motherhood and loneliness on the blog.
Learning to reach out for support as a mom and find community can help you to feel loved and supported. You can meet other moms at your kids’ school activities or their extracurricular activities. You can also join a parent organization like the PTA, or do volunteering.
If you are really struggling with motherhood or with loneliness, it can also help to get into a support group, or go to therapy. A therapist or life coach can help you to to find coping strategies if you are feeling lonely or isolated. Don’t be afraid to reach out for professional help if you are needing additional support.
Hope that you have a great week, my lovelies!
