October is a Busy Month!
There are several causes that promote their awareness month during October
In our society, there are many charitable causes that we can promote. We can raise awareness, volunteer or donate to many different programs that are meant to help others, and strengthen the fabric of our society. At times, it can be difficult to decide which causes we should support, since there are so many of them vying for our attention.
From your friend’s Go Fund Me, to letters you get in the mail asking you to donate, it can feel overwhelming at times. When it came to charitable donations, I had to narrow down the causes that I decided to support on a monthly basis. For a while, I was contributing to too many, and I was maxed out on being able to extend more help. So, I chose three that were close to my heart.
In your own life, there may be certain causes that are more dear to your heart than others, based on your own experience, and issues that you are passionate about.
In the month of October it is:
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Disability Employment Awareness Month
All of these are important and worthy causes for us to support. This month, you can learn more about all of these causes, what people in these communities face, and how you can help. Even if you are maxed out on the number of charities that you can support financially, educating yourself about these causes can still be of help.
When you learn more about the issues that others are facing in society, and the struggles that they endure on a daily basis, it can help you develop compassion for their needs. The more all of us can share in each other’s plights, and share kindness and compassion for others who are different from us, the more we can create a caring and connected society.
Hopefully one day, we can help to eradicate all different types of poverty, violence and suffering that people face as we strive to create a better world. However, today our world still has a long way to go towards creating a society that is beneficial for everyone. Until that happens, sometimes the best we can do is to educate ourselves about diverse issues, and challenge our own preconceptions.
I hope that you all have a wonder month of October, and that you find these topics to be enlightening and helpful.
Have a blessed day, my lovelies!
