A relationship can be either your biggest help in life or your biggest hinderance. It can either propel you forward or hold you back. That makes finding a good partner key to your future success and happiness.
Since I have been in both a very good relationship (currently) and a very bad relationship, I have seen just how much it matters how you choose your partner.
Today on the blog, you can see that I wrote:
An Open Letter to Men who Don’t Help Around the House
Now, I’m sure the same could be said about women who don’t help around the house. When you aren’t acting as a team, you are making your partner’s life more difficult. This can lead to resentment.
Conversely, when you work as a team, you are in sync with each other. It makes your relationship stronger and closer.
Having a good partner can greatly enrich your life. It makes you feel like there is someone who always has your back, and is your biggest supporter. You know that you can tell them anything, and they will understand.
Both partners have to work at the relationship and put in equal effort for the relationship to work. Both people need to understand each other. Both people need to support each other’s dreams.
As a creative person, my partner’s support has been key in my being able to write. He has allowed me to have the time to do what I need to do, and put in extra time with our daughter and around the house to make it happen. Now he is working a job, and I am at home writing. I am eternally grateful for this.
I hope that all of you have equally loving and fulfilling relationships in your own life. If you don’t feel this way, consider having a talk with your partner about whatever is bothering you.
Always approach these conversations when you are both feeling calm. Then, take your partner aside and tell them about your concerns, and try to problem solve together.
It can also help to work with a therapist or relationship coach if you are struggling with communication. They can help you learn better communication skills so that you can talk through anything together.
I hope that you have a wonderful week, my lovelies. Be well.
