
It is the beginning of a new month, and this is the perfect time to set your intentions for October, and how you want it to go.
Do you have long-term goals that you are working on? This is the perfect time to break them down into smaller steps that you are going to work on.
What are intentions?
Our intentions are the things that we plan to accomplish for ourselves. When we set an intention, it is like setting our direction.
We may have goals, dreams, hopes and desires that we are working towards in life all the time.
An intention is a bit different than a goal, because it is an idea that you are putting out into the universe, asking for assistance with it. You can think of it a bit like a prayer.
This is an important process in using the Law of Attraction to change your life. You visualize something, then believe that it is going to come to you, with the assistance of the universe.
According to Chopra,
Get clear about what you want. Imagine you are planting a seed. If you plant an apple seed, it would be unreasonable for you to expect anything other than an apple tree to grow in its place.
When you use the Law of Attraction, your intention is the thought you send out into the universe about how you want your life to be. This is the beginning of manifesting the life that you want.
How to set your intentions
The process of setting an intention is to fix a picture in your mind of what you are setting out to accomplish. Then, you will visualize the exact results that you want. Picture them clearly.
Then, once you have a clear picture in your mind, write down exactly what it is that you are going to accomplish. Be really specific.
Write your intentions in the present tense, as though you already have what you are intending.
For example: Instead of saying, “I want a new car” you can say “I am so grateful for my new car.”
To get really specific, you would say exactly what type of new car that you want, that it has good gas mileage or is really safe for example. Or if you know the exact make and model you could say that too.
You can also make a vision board with pictures, if that is more aligned with the way that you visualize things.
Every day, when you start and end the day, return to your intentions. Read them over closely, or spend some time looking at your vision board.
Meditating on your intentions can help to make them into a reality. You can say your attentions the way that you would say a mantra. Make yourself focus on what you want as though you know you are going to have it.
