Spirituality Flows Through All of Life
How can the life of the soul be separate from the life of the body and mind?
On another platform I write for, someone posed the question of What is Spirituality? Since Spirituality is my word for the year this year, I had to reply to this question.
Spirituality is the journey within our hearts to look for meaning. It is answers to questions about the meaning of life, our purpose, and our place within the cosmos.
Man has been asking these questions since the beginning of time, and many world religions attempt to answer them, in many different ways.
Are you on a spiritual journey?
Are you on a quest for meaning in life?
In one way or another, most of us are. We want to make sense of our lives and our experiences, and to feel like what we do matters to the future, for ourselves, and for those around us.
For me, compassion is the deepest spiritual value. It is loving kindness towards ourselves, those around us, and our environment. When we show compassion, we show the depths of our true nature.
“Compassionate people ask for what they need. They say no when they need to, and when they say yes, they mean it. They’re compassionate because their boundaries keep them out of resentment.” ~ Brene Brown
The more we can show compassion and love in our day to day lives, the more we can enrich the world, and the lives of all of those around us. In this world where there is so much hatred, contempt and selfishness, compassion can be a breath of fresh air for many people.
Helping others that are less fortunate and in need are great ways of showing compassion and giving back to those who need it most. This helps our world shine a little brighter, and helps us to be better people.
“Have compassion for all beings, rich and poor alike; each has their suffering. Some suffer too much, others too little.”
– Buddha
What is the deepest spiritual value that you hold dear? Have you thought about this? Let me know in the comments, I always love to hear from you!
Have a blessed week, my lovelies!
