How do you start living your best life? How do you step into your power? How do you take charge of seemingly impossible situations?
I have been struggling with this lately, with feeling like I have lost my direction in life. Like I am just floundering.
It takes time and intention to come back to yourself, and to feel like you aren’t constantly fighting a battle against your own mind. This can be particularly difficult if you have mental health issues that cause you to doubt your own thoughts and feelings.
Sometimes you spend so much time questioning and doubting yourself that you lose your compass in life. Your heart really can guide you, if you can find enough silence in your unquiet mind to let your true values shine through.
Even when you are sad, or feel helpless, you can still figure out your priorities. You can ask yourself hard questions, and get to the root causes of your unhappiness.
Let go of things that aren’t serving you
This week, we had the full moon in Taurus, and it was a great time to do a moon ritual, and release all the things that are mentally holding you back from being your true self. But, it doesn’t have to be the full moon to let go.
First, write down all the things that you feel you want to be as your highest self.
This list should contain all the qualities that you aspire to, and all the things that you want to be, and the way that you want to feel.
Then, make another list of all the things that are holding you back from living your truth.
This can be attitudes, behaviors, thoughts or people. You may have a harsh inner critic that tells you how bad you are all the time. You can commit to start counteracting this voice inside yourself. Every time you think a negative thought about yourself, ask yourself if it is really true. Look for evidence and examples to counteract your negative belief. Then, these can become affirmations that you say to yourself throughout the day.
When you let go of negative self-talk, you make so much mental space inside yourself to focus on the good.
It can seem scary to let go of your ways of being, and ways of doing things. You might feel like you will fail. And it’s ok to be afraid. Our fear points us toward the lessons that we still have to learn. Fear makes room for bravery, and allows us to keep going in spite of the fears that hold onto us.
Learning to let go, to trust yourself, and to trust the universe allows you to grow into the best version of yourself.
You have the power inside you already.
You just have to let go of all the things that are blocking you, and stopping you from being truly powerful.
It isn’t easy letting go, and it is something we have to practice again and again every day. But the more you let go of the things in your life that aren’t serving you, the more you make room for all kinds of goodness to fill your life.
Have a wonderful weekend, my lovelies! Be the best that you can be today.
All my best,
Nicole Dake
